A wet weekend in February.
We met at the Cherub in Dartmouth, stocked up on essential supplies
and headed for our flats at Torcross. On Friday afternoon we strolled to
the Cricket Inn at Beesands and found it shut! Friday evening was spent
at the Church House at Stokenham.
On Saturday we parked on Bolberry Down and walked around Bolt Tail to
Hope Cove, and then completed the circular walk around the fields
through Bolberry back to the cars, stopping off at a pub in Outer Hope
and the Port Light on the Down. The weather was reasonable until we got
back to the Port Light and then the heavens opened.
Length of walk 8 km, ascent 377 m.
We managed to grab two large tables in the Start Bay Hotel in the
evening and had fish and chips.
On Sunday we went into Dartmouth. Some went shopping while others
walked the coast path to Blackstone Point and Compass Cove. In the
afternoon a few of us walked around part of Slapton Ley. Dinner in the
Church House.
