These are a few photos from our Italian
holiday. Gill and I took the cable car from Malcesine on Lake Garda to
the Monte Baldo ridge. The temperature was in the high 30s at Lake
level, so we weren't going to walk up it were we? We took a stroll along
the ridge and then walked back down to Malcesine. Monte Baldo is 2218
metres high, so it took us a few hours, getting steadily hotter as we
got lower.
There is a bar half way down, the Bar Prai, which we naturally aimed
for, only to find it shut. It apparently only opens in the height of
summer.
The photos of the Dolomites are from a day trip we took into the
mountains. We stopped at the Poldoi Pass and the Sella Pass.
Skiing is such a big industry in this part of the world that I think
the mountains are slightly spoiled with ski tows, lifts and associated
cabling everywhere.
