We had a very cold but clear weekend in Pembrokeshire at
the beginning of December. It was so cold that both my camera batteries
refused to work, one of them completely, the other had to be kept in my
pocket and inserted into the camera when I wanted to take a photo.
Result: I missed a picture of the lifeboat being launched.
On Friday afternoon we strolled down to Whitesands Bay and walked out
to St David's Head.
On Saturday we did our usual circular walk beside Ramsay Sound and
back to the caravan via St Davids. I don't think I've ever seen the
coast path so quiet, apart from a few people at Whitesands Bay and at
the lifeboat station at St Justinian we only saw one other person on the
path until we got to Porthclais. Distance 18.3 km - 11.4 miles - 581
metres of ascent.
On Sunday we had a stroll down to the beach, and then wandered around
Solva until the pub opened for lunch. |
